I had bananas I wanted to use up. This is one of the best banana bar recipes I have found. I used salted butter so cut the salt down to a dash. I used 5 frozen bananas. 5 Stars!!

Hi Becky. Yes, these will freeze well in an airtight container for up to a month. Make sure they are completely cool before freezing,

I found this to be a wonderful use of brown bananas, some other recipes didn’t need 3-4 bananas but that’s what I had. I didn’t include nuts but will add them next time. The bars are hearty, frozen well & had wonderful banana flavor. Ready to investigate other recipes that you have. Thanks for the quick recipe.

This is called a brownie, but it’s not chocolate! It has the density of a brownie. Not heavy like banana bread, nor light and airy like cake. It is fabulous! The texture and taste are spot on! Use with or without the cream cheese frosting depending on your sweet tooth! I personally don’t care to add anything to the batter such as nuts (well maybe raisins?) but you I can if you’d like. Just be sure to use the toothpick test to assure its fully baked.

The second batch was not as ooey gooey good. Not sure why. Maybe I under baked the first batch? Trying this recipe as single serve muffins today and added some Vietnamese cinnamon.

I also used GF flour. I omitted the frosting and used whipped topping instead. This was a hit with everyone and was requested a week later as our super bowl party contribution! The 2nd batch is cooling. The cc frosting ready. I’ll let you know if round 2vturned out as well as the first one!
